Black Techno Matters

Sat, Nov 7

11:00 PM – 4:00 AM

The Boombox Miami

4447 SW 75 Ave, South Miami

Public Energy teams up with Black Techno Matters, the Washington, D.C. collective working to reclaim techno as Black music, for its seventh anniversary at The Boombox. The bill runs BXNRXD, Nile Ashton, Duality, Pressurepoint b2b Lady Narcisse, Duun, Killajay and Serafitz. BXNRXD founded Black Techno Matters in 2019 and puts out his own records through its label, and Nile Ashton is half of Secret Handshake. Public Energy founder Duality steps out of his comfort zone with percussive club tracks to set up Miami mainstay Pressurepoint going back to back with Lady Narcisse. Dub techno selector Duun opens alongside a debut set from Broward's Killajay, and Serafitz closes with a rare all-vinyl set outside his usual lane. All-black outfits are highly encouraged.
