MIAltar: Día de los Muertos Community Ofrenda and Open Mic

Studio Chato hosts MIAltar, its first community ofrenda and open mic for Día de los Muertos, in the River Room at The Underline in Brickell. Neighbors add to a shared altar honoring loved ones, then the open mic takes stories, poems and songs. Live music, food vendors, artists and family activities fill the evening, and a row of CajuelAltar shows ofrendas built inside car trunks. The Consulate of Mexico in Miami, the Mexican Cultural Institute of Miami and Pérez Art Museum Miami are among the partners, with support from the Miami Downtown Development Authority.
