Locust Projects opens a new season of Locust Late @ The DiLL, its after-hours art and tech series, with a program presented with Brainville Arts. Dani Amaro and Lesley Mok lead the night. Miami-based transdisciplinary sound artist Dani Amaro runs a hands-on workshop on how technology supports improvisation, drawing on contemporary jazz technique and Brazilian-Cuban heritage, so bring a laptop and follow along. New York percussionist, composer and sound artist Lesley Mok then makes a Miami debut; their solo LP transient, out on American Dreams Records, pushed their playing into beat-making and electronic composition. Edison Peñafiel's 360-degree video installation Tides and Passages, Chapter I: MARE MAGNVM is on view, and the artist gives a tour.
