Locust Projects brings Bethany Collins back to Miami for its Artist Talks series, where past exhibiting artists look back on their shows. Collins works on how race and language collide, erasing dictionary definitions down to fragments in her Contronym series and rewriting patriotic hymns in America: A Hymnal. Her 2018 Locust show, The Litany, built a white-on-white flocked wallpaper chapel with state flowers tracing her family's Great Migration, and staged a day-long performance of the hymnal during Art Week.
