America Touched, America Seen: A World Sight Day Celebration
Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired and the Coral Gables Museum mark World Sight Day with a reception for America Touched, America Seen, a show of tactile and mixed-media work by blind and visually impaired artists exploring America through texture, color and perspective. Latin Grammy-nominated violinist Oman Pedreira plays with guitarist Leo Quintero and saxophonist Jeff Zavac, and the United Voices Choir sings patriotic selections and two originals for America's 250th. Except for the two instructors, every artist and musician on the bill is blind or visually impaired.
