MOAD Talks with Dr. Mauricio Castro

The Museum of Art and Design at MDC hosts a talk with Dr. Mauricio Castro of Centre College on the Cuban Refugee Program and its connection to the Freedom Tower, the downtown landmark that processed Cuban refugees in the 1960s. Castro wrote Only a Few Blocks to Cuba: Cold War Refugee Policy, the Cuban Diaspora, and the Transformations of Miami, published in 2024 by the University of Pennsylvania Press. The talk is open to the public at the Freedom Tower.
