Leica Store Miami opens 212, Bronx-born photographer Lisa Leone's show of her earliest work: hip-hop's first generation on the streets of New York, shot on a Leica M6 and M4-P starting in 1982, when her classmates at the High School of Art & Design included writers and dancers like Mare 139, Fabel, Ence and Doze. Arthur Baker, the producer behind Afrika Bambaataa's Planet Rock, plays a DJ set. Leone went on to shoot videos for TLC, Heavy D and D'Angelo, worked with Stanley Kubrick on Eyes Wide Shut, and won an Emmy as a director. The show stays up through November.
