Tom Laroc, the longtime South Beach turntablist, runs Manchester Meets Miami at Churchill's every Tuesday, a set built on the 1979 to 1988 stretch that laid the groundwork for club music. Expect post-punk, early electro, synth and new wave, plus no wave, mutant funk and alternative dance, sequenced to trace the line from Manchester's rainy post-punk warehouses to New York's downtown scene, Detroit's early electro basements and Chicago's raw proto-house. Churchill's has held down Little Haiti since 1979, reopening in September 2025 after a five-year closure.
